Windows 8 was not in existence when Adobe 9 Pro was created, so Adobe 9 Pro was not made to support Windows 8. Similarly, Windows 8 was probably not developed specifically with supporting Adobe Pro 9 in mind, though if it can it probably has to be installed in some form of compatibility mode.
