Cannot install Acrobat XI Pro

All I can gather is the instalation process keeps getting longer and longer as it reaches the "Running package scripts..."

Then, after 3-4 long hours, it finally gives a message: "The installation failed.  The Installer encounter an error that caused the instalation to fail. Contact the software manufaturer for assistance."

Well, that's not much help, as I spent another 3-4 hours on Adobe Chat and all they were able to say is:  "there is no Log file for the XI in folder (Library > Logs > Adobe > Installers)", which I noticed that by myself, I just don't know if that above mention file is only created AFTER the instalation is finnished?

Oh, and they told me to delete Acrobat 9 Pro, which is out of the question as I will never delete 9 Pro untill I'm certain XI Pro is good enough for my needs. (not to mention I have third party plugins on 9 Pro for trapping/imposition and custom Penguin settings etc.)

(during the long installation period) The Installer Log message is about 123,000 lines long!

After approx.  the 7,500th line, all it says is:

"Me-50.local installd[96305]: ./preinstall: root is not in the sudoers file.  This incident will be reported."

So I actually never got an error code on the main window, just the above on the Log window, but it's all chinese to me!

Due to wrong behaviour of Adobe's web pages > adobe.com/au/products/acrobat, while I attempted to buy Acrobat XI Pro, (here, after choosing to buy, item goes to my Shopping Cart, but then I cannot go to Checkout or even Sign in – so I was 'forced' to download the 612MB file and choose TRIAL, at time of installation.

However, XI does not install!

I have now download the Acrobat XI twice, and attempted to install it some 6 times!

I tried different steps each new time I attempted to install the XI;

I have restarted my computer

I created a new user account

Fixed disk permissions/repaired disk etc.

I started the computer in safe mode

I burned the XI installer into a CD and tried to install XI it from there

I burned the  diskimage and tried to install XI on another Mac

Any help, would be much appreciated. Thanks.

P.S.

I'm running OS X 10.8.2 and all the latest updates for Flah, Firefox etc. etc.

Sorry for the long message, but I wanted to make sure everything I can remember, is here, so we don't have to play 'email tennis'. Cheers, RicImage may be NSFW.
