MarmaladePips I am sorry you have been facing difficulties launching Photoshop and Illustrator.  As Mylenium requested it would be beneficial if you can provide any specific error messages which you are receiving.  If you do not see any specific error messages coming up then you will want to look at your Event Viewer.  You can find details on how to utlize the Event Viewer at Identify software conflicts | System log | Windows Vista - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/identify-software-conflicts- system-log.html.

 

Finally if you are facing launch errors, which it appears you are, then the best place to post those inquiries will be the specific forums for those software titles.  The users in those forums are going to be more familiar with the specific functions of the applications and how to resolve their launch issues.  You can find the Photoshop and Illustrator forums at the following locations:
