Mac Version macOs Sierra 10.12.6

 

Wat prompted to reinstall cs3 was when I tried to use photoshop and Indesign that it was a box telling me that I have to reinstall them.

 

at this point am pulling my hair out. I trash all the cs3 program one by one, the adobe pcd file, cache, and the new downloads. restarted the computer and the recovery file opens with all of these in there.

 

I checked the link you sent on troubleshooting yet I cannot find the problem. I am stuck on this.

CS6 and earlier programs have not been tested and will not be updated for Mac El Capitan or later operating systems

-which means that you try to use CS6 and earlier at YOUR risk of having problems due to Apple updates

-Apple did not maintain backward compatibility with old programs in El Capitan or Sierra

--Adobe has a workaround to Apple's problem of not maintaining backward compatibility

There is chat support, but it isn't always fast to load

 

While the forums are open 24/7 you may not contact Adobe support at all times

In addition to the link's offered by John, in message #11, you can also try removing all Adobe applications from the computer, Musikoz.

 

Creative Suite 3 was the first time we introduced installation log files and they are not as verbose as those offered in Creative Cloud or later versions of Creative Suite.  Without any errors to go on your best bet will be to completely remove all installed Adobe software using the uninstallers located in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers.  This includes Elements, Acrobat, Reader, Flash Player, anything related to Adobe.

 

Once all the uninstallers have been run you can then download and run the CC Cleaner tool from Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems .  The CC Cleaner Tool is designed to be ran in conjunction with the uninstallers and will remove any remaining entries.

 

Once the uninstallers are run and you used the CC Cleaner Tool, with the Clean All option, you should be in your best position to reinstall Creative Suite 3 Design Premium on macOS 10.12.6.

First of all - thank you for your reply.

 

Second of all, I must apologize for saying it was $22 - it actually is $21.24 per month.  I have no idea why it is so much if it is only supposed to be $9.99. Earlier this year, I cancelled my $50.00 plus subscription to all of Adobe Creative Cloud, which I no longer needed. Adobe came back with the $21.24 price even though I only asked for only Photoshop and Light-room.

 

I just checked my account. I have

"Creative Cloud Photography plan with 1TB (one-year)" and the details are:

Lightroom CC and Lightroom Classic and Photoshop

Web Applications: Lightroom CC and Adobe Sparks

Mobile Apps: Lightroom for Mobile, Photoshop Mix, Sparks Post, Page and Video

Plus: 1 TB Cloud Storage

  •   Access to all the premium features of Adobe Spark web and mobile applications.

 

Seems to be more than I need, but that is what Adobe gave me.

 

Today I downloaded both the CC and Classic upgrade versions and cannot open either of them. I get the following notice on both: "Account Notification - An error occurred while attempting to sign in to your account {RUSS@HYMANANDASSOCIATES.COM}. Please check your account information. For our support staff Error:{"error":access_denied"}"

 

I checked my Adobe Creative Account and it seems to be in order and Adobe has been diligently taking money out of my account on a monthly basis. I am up to date in my payments.

 

You asked if I was updating via the program or through Creative Crowd. I started by doing it from the program (actually both programs that I seems to have) and then it moved over to the Creative Cloud sub-window where I said that I wanted to Install the update and actually did it for both the Lightroom versions I seem to to have. I got the above notification from both versions when I tried to start the programs. They both  showed a new (different from what I am using) opening screen before the message came on.

 

I believe I am subscribed to Creative Cloud, but with all the changes that Adobe has made recently, I am not sure.

Okay, first step, try signing out of the Creative Cloud desktop app and back in again by clicking on the three dots next to your avatar, and choosing "sign out". Next, quit Creative Cloud and restart it, and then sign in again. That may correct the issue.

 

If that doesn't help, are you on Windows? Try this solution, which comes from the following discussion thread: Can't sign in "error:67".

1. Log out of Lightroom CC, Adobe Creative Cloud

2. Close Lightroom CC & Adobe Creative Cloud

3. Open Task Manager -> Details

4. End any Adobe Creative Cloud icon processes (Adobe CEF Helper, Adobe Desktop Service, CCLibrary, CCXProcess, etc)

5. Open Lightroom

 

You might also try the other solutions offered in that thread I linked. And again, if you would prefer someone to walk you through things one-on-one in real time, you are eligible with the plan you have to contact a technical support agent via phone or chat here: Contact Customer Care.

 

Re: the cost, 1 TB of cloud storage means you have the Photography plan with upgraded cloud storage. If you do not need that much storage, you might contact Adobe customer service and ask about downgrading to the standard Photography plan, which comes with 20 GB of cloud storage for the aforementioned price of $9.99 (presumably plus tax). They might not be able to do it right away if you're on an annual plan, but definitely look into it when you renew (Creative Cloud pricing and membership plans | Adobe Creative Cloud). It's a screamin' good deal. You can then spend the dough you save on massages or delicious beverages or whatever else there is in the world that makes technology issues less crabbyl.

So I bought CS6 a couple years ago, then my computer started freaking out so I tried switching CS6 to a new computer, but it would only do a trial license. So I reached out to Adobe support. Unfortunately, that wasn't helpful. They told me that I had used the maximum number of activations for this serial number. Let me summarize what this means: I bought their software, tried moving it to my new computer, and now I have to pay for incredibly expensive software all over again. What if my computer had died a month after I'd installed? Tough luck? Sounds like it.

 

The tech support rep recommended I post in the forum so that I could get the best solution from Adobe reps. I'm not sure why the tech support rep couldn't direct me directly to them, but here we are.

Thanks for the tip, John. Unfortunately, I already deactivated on the old one (intermittent failures, so hurrying to move things to the new machine). Any advice on where to go now?

If you entered your serial number when asked during the new install, and the program does not activate, I have no other ideas

I guess they really don't want people to get CS6.  I was hoping to cast a wider net with an updated thread topic, but the other thread got deleted.  Hope I didn't break any rules.

By the way, when I go to Customer Contact Care, the only option I have is Community Forums - that is why I was so annoyed in my first post - I wanted to have a chat with someone to help get through this issue, but could only get the Community Forums. I still don't know how to have a chat.

Hi.

I've downloaded CS3 to my new laptop (dell i7 processor) running on Windows 10 but the program won't start. My old laptop runs on Windows 7 and I have no problem. Is there a compatibility issue with my new laptop?

You are signed in with the Adobe ID (e-mail) associated with your active plan, correct? Once you're on the "Contact Customer Care" page, go through the filters choosing Creative Cloud All Apps > Lightroom CC > Download and Install > Show me my contact options. Does it still show only the forum? If that's the case, there may be a bigger issue with respect to Adobe recognizing your subscription, and you should go back to the beginning of the filters and choose "Account Issues" instead. That should let you get to a chat agent.

 

Good luck with the resolution. Let us know how things progress.

I tried to download Adobe After Effects CC. I think that the others like Premiere Pro also have the same issue.

I am using Mac OS High Sierra.

Hi Shtan,

 

As you have mentioned you have purchased a new computer with Windows 10 and would like to use Adobe CS3 products on it however the products doesn't work or launch.

Adobe CS 3 is a very old software and the operating system you are using is the latest, hence there could be compatibility issues as adobe has not tested these products on the latest operating systems.

 

However, you can try downloading & installing the a fresh setup for Adobe CS 3 from the following link: Download Adobe Creative Suite 3 products.

If you still face any issue installing the software then please refer to: Resolve "temporary activation expired" error for CS3 and Acrobat 8.

For the moderators: I'm writing in the CC forum, since I think people who switched to the cloud most likely are the ones not using their old CS6 license anymore.

 

Hi there,

as written in the title I'm looking for an Adobe CS6 Master Collection or Production Premium License (Windows).

 

Of course I'm only interested in having it officially transferred through Adobe to my ID. I was told, that since I'm living in the EU it's only possible to transfer Licenses within the EU. So the license should be registered to someone in the EU and the language should be English or German.

 

Please PM me if you have a license you don't use anymore!
