One of the things mentioned on the page you posted, was Adobe recommends buying legitimate software of course.
Does Adobe still sell CS6? I ask because I like not having the monthly bill.

If Adobe doesn't sell CS6, can I get it from anyone else legitimately?
CS6 is 4+ years old, so I doubt you will find anyone that still has a box to sell sitting on a shelf
groetjes
i can't determine what exactly you're doing. but for your adobe pcd folder, Configuration error in Adobe Creative Cloud
Hi.
I'm a fan of Adobe Software, but I haven't bought anything professional, only the free apps from AppStore. But recently I checked the newsletter from Adobe and I got redirected to their website with new updates. I scrolled a bit down, and found a button(?) where it said "Download". I thought Adobe was maybe giving out free copies, which would be odd without any key-license. I tried to download it, launched it and logged in. First it said (something like this) "You aren't registered to this software". I closed it and opened it again. Then it began to download. 1%.. I stopped it because I didn't want to do anything wrong. I contacted the support 24/7 chat, and I got redirected to here.
I have some pictures to explain it better, but I hope it just was the trial, and not the real software, because as said, I don't want to do anything wrong.
Regards Jonas.
am trying to reinstall CS3 with the new serial number provided by Adobe
That's what I figured, but I had to ask.
CS6 and earlier programs have not been tested and will not be updated for Mac El Capitan or later operating systems
-which means that you try to use CS6 and earlier at YOUR risk of having problems due to Apple updates
-Apple did not maintain backward compatibility with old programs in El Capitan or Sierra
--Adobe has a workaround to Apple's problem of not maintaining backward compatibility
--READ HERE https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2301916 for an Adobe solution to installing old programs, including a link to installing the old Java runtime that is required

I may have thrown the Photoshop Elements 10 icon in the trash, and then emptied the trash thinking I had uninstalled it. When I then tried to re-install it it won't open again and the only message I get is "unable to continue because of a hardware or system error. Sorry but this error is unrecoverable." After some researching I found out I did exactly what you are NOT supposed to do since it can "cause trouble when you want to re-install". I'm sorry for being an IDIOT but is there ANYTHING I can do to make it work again? I have a MacBook Air, with the High Sierra version 10. 13.4. 1,6 GHz Intel Core i5 processor.
I have two suggestions
Deleting the settings file

Deactivation, uninstall, and reinstall with a ccleaner run through between the uninstall and the reinstall.
Jonas, do you know which Adobe software you were attempting to download? What operating system are you installing on?
You can find details on how to post your screenshots at FAQ: How do I capture and post a screen shot or video? .
I am still getting an error
followed these and redone the entire process described below until number 8. After that, I got an error box (attached below) I need to contact customer support but not phone number or chat seems to work for me. the third day of the trying to install it.
please help!!! thanks
I don't know what is going on with Adobe, but I believe they have forgotten customer service. In the old days when I paid $50 plus per month, I could contact the company for help. Since I am now retired, I changed my service just to include Light room and Photoshop at $22 per month. I now understand that that there is an update to Light room, which I downloaded but cannot open. I cannot even have a chat with Adobe to get this resolved. If anyone out there knows how to get Adobe to upload the latest version of Light room and let me open it, I would appreciate it or do I have to continue using their previous version forever because they do not want to update me.
I know I sound like a crabby old man which maybe I am, but Adobe's support was a lot better when I paid $50 plus per month. Do I have to go back that to get an answer to a simple Light room answer. Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you
Russ
Musikoz, I am sorry you are facing errors when attempting to install Creative Suite 3 Design Premium on your Mac. What version of Mac OS are you reinstalling CS3 on? What originally prompted you to reinstall Creative Suite 3?
The current error you posted, in message #8, indicates nothing more than the setup is failing to initialize. Please review the related installation log to determine why the CS3 installer is failing to initialize. Information on how to locate the CS3 installation logs can be found at Troubleshoot installation with install logs | Adobe Creative Suite 3, Adobe Creative Suite 4 .
You are welcome to post any specific errors you discover in this discussion, Musikoz.
Why have they stopped providing chat support. I know it helps their bottom line but does nothing for the poor slobs who are using their programs?
Hi Russelhy,
First off, don't worry about sounding like a "crabby old man". First off, you don't, but even if you did, everyone's allowed when computer issues are in the mix. Few things under the sun will put me in a frustrated rage faster!
That said, let me make sure I understand the issue: you subscribe to Photoshop and Lightroom Creative Cloud and you are trying to update Lightroom. That update downloaded correctly but will not open, is that correct? If so, we need a bit more information to help us effectively troubleshoot. Are you updating via the Creative Cloud Desktop app or through Lightroom itself? Do you get any error messages? Finally, what is your computer operating system?
A couple of side notes: while I hope we can help you here on the forum, I want you to know that if you subscribe to Creative Cloud, you are absolutely eligible for phone or chat support. See this help document, which includes a link to contact support: What are my contact options?
Also, I'm curious what plan exactly you're on that costs $22 per month, since the Photography Plan, which includes Photoshop and Lightroom, is $9.99 for most people. Do you have the option with increased cloud storage? I'm just looking out to make sure you're getting the most bang for your buck.
