Update of Lightroom CC suddenly not possible anymore, tells me to contact support
I'm using CreativeCloud for Photography on MacOs and since recent it tells me there is new actualizations for lightroom ( via CC Agent but also if I go into Lightroom CC itself and use the function for updating ) but as soon as I start the updating it gives me an error "Update failed" without an explicit errorcode every time and tells me to contact support if the problem persists. Well it does persist and as I somehow cant find any way to contact support directly I hope they read this forum...

Hi Flo,
As you have mentioned that you are unable to update Lightroom CC by using the update option within the app, did you also try using the Creative Cloud desktop app to update it? If not then please give it a try.
Also, can you please share your computer's operating system and its version with us.
In order to understand the issue better, I would request you to share a screen shot of the error window as well, to know how see: FAQ: How do I capture and post a screen shot or video?

yes...I first did use the CC desktop app to update and only as this didnt work tried in Lightroom CC itself. Here is the error from the app:
As mentioned I am on MacOS. The version is 10.11.6 El Capitan on a Retina MacBook Pro 2013.
If I go inside Lightroom CC, the application says it currently is 7.1 with Camera Raw version 10.1
any more info that is relevant? Ah yes...I am registered in Germany but travelling in Italy - can this have any effects? In general though internet and all is working fine...

Thank you! I would suggest you to manually remove Lightroom from your machine by following the steps given here: How to uninstall Lightroom manually, and then reinstall it using the Creative Cloud desktop app.

did as requested and even removed its complete directory but gives me now pretty much the same error-message just with "installation" instead of "updating"/"update":
Installation error:
The product couldn't be installed. Click on Retry to download and install again.
naturally clicking retry doesnt change anything .

Please check the install log files to know the exact problem so that we can move in the right direction to troubleshoot it, See: Troubleshoot Adobe Creative Cloud install issues with log files.

Kimh76623781 what Adobe software title, and version, are you attempting to download? Is it Lightroom 4? If so which operating system are you on? What is the error you are currently experiencing?

Unreal. So according to the information you posted, I do not have an authorized copy. I really thought I had a real copy.
I paid $900 through PayPal. Unfortunately, that was 4 years ago, so I don't know how much recourse I have. I still have all of the correspondence from the seller.

it says to go in and make changes in the the library folder I can't find the library folder.....

Even if an authorized Adobe dealer, there have been a LOT of very real looking fakes sold
And, if not an authorized dealer, you may have sold a volume license that is not legal for an individual
Adobe has, over the last year or so, "tightened" their licensing process to check for un-authorized serial numbers

That's exactly what the seller initially claimed, that it was a volume license. I had no idea that a volume license was not legal for an individual. But the seller claimed:
"This is a legal and 100% authentic license. It is a Volume License which means it has all the same functions and featiures as the retail version but this is designed for businesses and you are able to download it to 2 computers and use it at the same time, where the retail version is only good for 1 computer."
At least, that's what he wrote to me.

Hello there, I am trying for two days to fix CS3 for Mac with no luck.
I am being used CS3 for a long time still have the original CDs and have a serial number for a long time.
Yesterday opening the program gives a message that I need a new serial number, uninstall and reinstall CS3 in 5 days.
I am doing all what I think is correct and still, the program is not working. at this point am desperate, losing time and not getting to anywhere.
On top, no phone number to call, chat is no existing either, do not have any option than ask here,

then try reinstalling.

after securing your serial number, uninstall cs3 (using the uninstaller)

remove the cache.db file from Program Files (x86)/Common Files/Adobe/Adobe PCD/cache/
restart your computer
